in search of robert kerlin

One of the bits and pieces of papers of Annie O’Neil’s that Bucky had was a receipt for the grave of Gretta Kerlin.



This paper raised a number of questions in my mind : what does a 32 year old woman die of ? What was she doing out in San Francisco ( visiting her sister ?) and what happened to old Ed Vizard – she is using her maiden name once more.

But mostly, I wondered what happened to the woman sitting in the car next to Ed, looking so young and happy.
