Marggie Carbis

December 6th, 2004

marriage of Henry T. Kerlin and Margaret Carbis
Dad heard from the library in St.Louis and they sent on a copy of the marriage record of Henry Kerlin and Margaret Carbis.

Unfortunately, there is no information which decisively links these two people to Sam Kerlin, although I do believe that they are his parents.

I have just sent in a request to the Archdiocese of St. Louis, asking for a copy of the marriage certificate.

Perhaps that might provide the missing link.

Carrie Kerlin

I know nothing about Carrie Kerlin, except that she was the oldest sister. Looking at the clothing, I would put this picture some time in the 1910′s.

Now, according to Vizard’s and Gretta’s marriage license, his mother’s name was Katherine, his father’s Peter. The wedding was witnessed by a Peter Vizard and an Anna Vizard. And- of course- the wedding took place in Wayne, Michigan.

Is little Eddie Vizard our Ed Vizard ? If so, Gretta wasn’t the only one fudging her age : an birthday in 1873 would make Ed 42, not 35 on that happy day.

Sometimes, unusual surnames can be interesting.
